Starkenburg-Gymnasium Heppenheim

Through the mediation of one of our members, we as an association established contact with the Starkenburg-Gymnasium Heppenheim (SGH). The SGH is a 140-year-old school in Heppenheim on the Bergstraße. Here, approximately 1000 students are prepared for their A-levels over 9 years in a respectful and open-minded atmosphere.

From the very first conversation, it was clear that the contact between the students of SGH and Endarofta aligns well with the school’s mission statement and broadens the students’ perspectives on society. Therefore, both schools decided to form a partnership.

What does the partnership look like?

A first project week at SGH, together with us as an organization, marked the start of the partnership. We shared insights with the students about the living and studying conditions at Endarofta Secondary School. Additionally, the students engaged with the Tanzanian school system and created initial messages and videos for the Tanzanian student body, alongside designing a logo for the partnership. Building on this, active exchanges between the students of both schools are now to be initiated.

Such exchanges require appropriate equipment. Since Endarofta Secondary School lacks the financial resources for necessary items like speakers and cameras, the project team at SGH decided to raise funds through donations. Planned activities include baking sales and information booths.

As this partnership is an evolving process, the information on this page will be regularly updated. Detailed information about current activities can be found on our website under News or on the website of Starkenburg Gymnasium Heppenheim.
